"Four children, by the names of Booker Adams, Rocky Mitchell, Maggie Trevelyan, and Valeria Trevelyan, from Lovelock, Nevada, all went missing around 2:09 pm yesterday afternoon.." the news blares from the other room. I'm still half asleep so I'm not completely aware of what's going on. I rub my eyes and try to open them, but since I didn't get any sleep last night, my eyes disagree with me trying to open them. All I get a chance to see is the bright light from an open window in front of the bed I'm sleeping on. I try to pry my eyes open again and squint from the bright light entering the room. I look around me, to find that I'm in a different room, from where I last fell asleep in, decorated way better than my room, and way bigger as well.

What would you do if tomorrow morning, everybody in the entire world vanished? If you're anything like my brother and I you'd probably jump for joy. We certainly did, all you can eat pizza for the very reasonable price £0. In the first moment it is heaven, but then you realise the true cost. Your friends; gone! Your family; gone! And all that is left is the pain. Rocky and Chase explore their empty world determined to make it back home as they search for their lost mother and 12 year old sister Kayleigh. With an empty world this might seem a hopeless task but try telling that to two orphan brothers. When you wait that long for a mum you don't let little things like 'disappearing' stop you from getting her back. Unfortunately for the maladjusted boys some of the people who disappeared have come back, and they have, let's say 'changed.' That's ok though, these boys have never shied away from a fight in their life! But when the last girl on earth actually might actually be your soul mate it's a new kind of pain for Rocky to watch her fall for his brother. His fists have gotten him through life up to now, so it's hard to accept that the key to finding his Mum and solving this mystery might mean facing his feelings. It's one thing to fight the actual monsters around you but beating the ones on the inside is the true battle. A battle both Rocky and Chase must conquer if they are ever to see their Mum or sister again, a battle they must win if they are ever truly to have a family. Sometimes saving other people starts with saving yourself, will Rocky's journey be similar to your own? Let's find out...

Five Star Reviews for Atlantis Academy: "Omg this book was amazing I couldn't put it down or stop reading. I carried it with me open on my phone while I did everything just to keep reading. I need more of all of this. Epic story, epic content, epic visuals, just epic. LOVE THIS!" "Once I got into this story, I did not stop reading it. This is a beautiful story about a very awkward girl who is riven with so much pain and angst and yet... this makes her who she is and shapes her into the person she will become. The world she finds herself awakened to is magical and yet filled with the all-too-familiar cliques and tribes of the very human people who inhabit it. One word to describe the story: beautiful!" "The story pulls you headlong to the end and leaves you wanting to shout "No! Not yet!" ...If there were 6 stars, I would have given it that." *** Humanity is one secret society away from extinction. The children of Atlantis use magic to keep us safe. If they make it through the Academy. Hi, I'm Lyric. And I'm kind of a mess. ADHD, that's me. I'm a high school drop-out, late everywhere I go, and one screw-up away from being homeless. I'm a loner, and I like it that way. Who needs friends when you have a Redwood forest nearby? Trees never bully me like the kids did at school. Or get drunk and throw things at my head. After my mom died, I figured life couldn't get much worse. I thought it might even get better. Ha. The universe has a great sense of humor. I should've listened to the rumors about evil spirits. About the angry, ancient magical creatures haunting our small Oregon Coast town. But did I? No. That was my first mistake. And it might be my last. 'Cause now I'm in a battle for my life. A whole new world has opened up... a magical world I don't understand. And the blood in my veins says I belong here. But I have to prove myself to save myself. And when have I ever done that?

"Tell me about your daughter, Ms. Light." "Her name was Desederia April Light. Of course, she made everyone call her Daya for sake of causality, but she nonetheless was an amazing girl. She had bright amber eyes, gorgeous curly hair, and she aspired to be a firefighter because she loved helping people. She wanted to save lives. Her favorite color was orange because she claimed that it was under appreciated, and she adored Autumn because of the vibrancy. She was obsessed with sunflowers, too. She was just a normal girl, just a normal kid." "So then what happened?" "I..don't know. Things just changed one day. She grew paranoid and quiet, her grades dropped, and she'd beg us to stay home. I'd just tell her to grow up, but I should've listened." "But you really don't have an idea of why?" "I wish that I did. I wish I knew then what I know now, and I wish I took the matter more seriously when she tried to tell me." "So, Ms Light, tell me, do you think we'll find her?" "I don't know. But I know my Daya, and I know how smart she is. She might get to us before we get to her." ~ This is an unedited sample. The full, edited version is available on my Amazon Kindle (link in bio).
