After the death of his sister, James's life became hell. His parents started beating him up and he was forced to indore it.

 Isolation, submission, and a desperate attempt to please others were just some of the things he tried to better his current lifestyle, but none worked. In a last attempt to free himself he did something that he knows he could get killed for if he got caught. But as always, things never went as planned. An unimaginable event happened which caused him to lose his life.

Waking in a world of magic and swords, he's been placed in a rather odd situation. Years after his encounter with the god who blessed him with a second life by mistake, his circumstances changed dramatically causing his future plans and second chance to go down the drain. 

But being surrounded by a new found family he decides to not be the victim of fate, but let fate be the victim.

"You're so fucking insufferable Nathanael" He lets out a deep chuckle that sends tingles down my back. "That's hilarious coming from you." "What is your fucking problem with me?" I ask slightly pissed off but mostly confused. "What's my problem with you? You're a hotheaded, loudmouth, annoying prick." He steps closer to me with every word. "Yeah, well you're just a condescending, egotistical, full of yourself, little bitch." He walks so close he's between my legs as I'm still seated on the counter, and the distance between us is all I can think about. "I hate you so much Evens." He breathes out, the warmness of his breath fanning over my lips. "The feeling's mutual, Rivers." Our eyes never break contact, and a suffocating silence takes over the little distance between us. His eyes flick down to my lips and then back up to my eyes. Before I can speak his hands grab my waist and pull me closer to him. A soft gasp leaves my lips but it's silenced when his mouth crashes onto mine and without a second thought I kiss him back. ~~~~~ Caiden Evens isn't normal, he's been in the foster care system since he was three, he has no idea of how he ended up there but after more than 20 different placements over his life he's stopped hoping that his real family might be out there.
