45 years after the fall of civilization and 40 years after the death of Rick Grimes in post-apocalyptic United States, the Virginia community of Arcadia is rattled when a mysterious stranger suddenly arrives to their gates claiming to potentially hold the key to rebuilding society while being pursued by an ominous group of rebel paramilitaries and himself becoming entangled in Arcadia's deep web of political internal intrigue and their own outside demons in the form of violent cultists.
