The small town of Lanesville is home to families under the careful watch of Hillel, an angel angered by the destruction of his land. Because of his anger, the inhabitants must stay in the town and are forbidden to leave. Ana and her friends learned from a young age to stay away from the mountain and the forests covering its slope. Many of the strongest have attempted to climb the mountain and fight Hillel only to disappear. Ana decides that her generation will be the one to end the terror so that she can free her friends and family.
