In spite of all our efforts, in spite of how fate brings us together so many times, in spite of our longings of mutual friendship, how can we form any trust and camaraderie between us?

We cannot even understand each other anymore.

They were eleven, all bright eyed and bushy tailed for they first year in the Middle School of Enigma.

They first met each other as roommates. To their
And Aziza wanted to forge a friendship with Hollie.

It was only the second week since they met, but Aziza had lost nearly all her initial enthusiasm.

To Aziza, Hollie now seemed like a destined stranger, the kind of person in life that you rub shoulders with and then they are gone, to be forgotten forever.

Perhaps that is the truth.

But what Aziza did not know and which is still (and for a long time to come) impossible for her to understand, is that Hollie was trying in her own way to befriend Aziza too, in no less effort than Aziza did.

Could it be a fruitless effort of goodwill on both sides? Or is an unbreakable friendship about to be forged, step by step with admirable (and perhaps a little foolhardy) determination?

Well, Aziza and Hollie are about to face more than they would ever expect.
