JRR Tolkien, the great historian of the War of the Ring, did not know of the contribution of the Uruk Nar Lagurz, the small group of Mordor Orcs who set their will against Sauron and did everything they could to make sure he never regained the One Ring. Most of the contributors to the Red Book, such as Samwise Gamgee, never knew of their pivotal roll. Those who did were sworn to secrecy, Moreover, Mr. Tolkien has done an unintentional disservice to certain citizens of The Shire who also supported the Free Peoples of Middle Earth through their covert activities.

How did the Ring remain hidden in The Shire for so long while Sauron bent all his thought to finding it? The volume you now holds in your hand will shed light in these and many other questions.

Thirty years after the events of The Hobbit, Legolas heeds his father's words to go north and find a wanderer named Strider. However, his search for Strider comes with danger: orcs. So when he is saved from a deadly ambush by a mysterious, yet cunning she-elf, Legolas does all he can to unmask her true identity while staying focused on his mission. Miranna Foxglove's Elven parents were slain by orcs when she was just an elfling; she has a scar -an emotional and physical one- to remember that night. When hordes of orcs start roaming Middle Earth once more, Miranna, along with her mare, tracks them and exterminates them along the way while finding the orc who killed her parents. She does not expect to find two things during her hunt: the Elven prince of Mirkwood and a place that has always waited for her to call home. When he puts himself between the Uruk-hai and Merry and Pippin, Boromir knew it means sacrificing himself. But it also means redemption for his near betrayal of Frodo and the Fellowship, and so is a price he is more than willing to pay. Kaia has been on her own for as long as she can remember, having escaped a terrible life in a village not far from Mordor. When she hears the sounds of battle, she knows what it means and when she ventured forth and finds a gravely wounded man lying amongst the leaves and debris, she takes him in, not knowing he is actually the son of the steward of Gondor. Angry at himself and faced with a long road to recovery, Boromir does not make things easy on Kaia and it is only through her own sheer will that she does not give into the urge to hit him over the head with something on a daily basis. That refusal to give up brings about changes neither one of them could have foreseen. She just wanted to save him. She never thought he would save her in return...
