After an explosion of mysterious reactors in a research lab, a group of random kids developed enhanced human abilities.
Skyler is a facility built on the ruins of the lab, it has a mission of finding those kids and recruiting them to protect them and help them master their new talents in a safe environment.
Rey is one of them. She joins the facility in the hope she would never have to fear her powers anymore, but is soon faced by the reality that the Skyler project is more than she was made to think.
This is a story about fear and guilt, about family and friendships, and about finding purpose.

When twins Skylar and Jake were born, their scientist parents used them as an experiment. Each was injected with a dose of serum that would supposedly make them much stronger, smarter, simply better than other kids. But somebody added a chemical that changed the effects of the serum. As a result each twin got only half of the traits they were originally supposed to get. Skylar got the strength and speed while Jake got the brains. When they realized what had happened, the twins' parents immediately put them up for adoption, so neither one knew of the other. 12 years later Skylar is constantly failing all her classes, and Jake is getting bullied because he is so much weaker than other kids. But then Skylar's adoptive family decides to move across the country to find a new school for their daughter, which happens to be the school Jake goes to. They meet completely by accident. In the meantime, their parents have found a way to fix their mistake from 12 years ago -- they can make one of the twins perfect.
