Etna has never really felt good enough, pretty enough, or smart enough. She's always felt like an elephant in a zoo of Flamingo's. Trying to finish high school with a head of confidence, Etna struggles to avoid her persistent counselor and the bullies around her. Sometimes she's not as strong as she should be; other times she's an inspiration.

** 2026 Update: Hi All, I am just stopping by to say a few things. One thank you for everyone who took the time to read this story when I wrote it at 14. It built my confidence so much in storytelling and still plays a part in my life today. Secondly, please understand I wrote this when I was 14 writing from the pov of a bullied fat girl, so a lot of these self hate comments or even comments from the people in her world were all just the way I viewed myself and people's perception of me. I don't want anyone reading this and then looking at themselves negatively.
