Honor of the Dragonborn
Third story to "His Harbinger," sequel to "Something to Protect." Everything makes much more sense if you at least read "His Harbinger" first. Vilkas x Dragonborn (established) Farkas x Lydia (also established and a bit background) Based on my play through of the Dragonborn DLC with my Dragonborn Krinna Dovh, a female Nord. Krinna has visions and premonitions so there are some things she just knows (continuing a headcannon established in the first two books). Mostly told from Vilkas's perspective, with occasional snippets from the Dragonborn's perspective. Also explores aspects of married life; Vilkas being hot-tempered, but sweet and loyal. Story is set after the Companions quest line, the civil war, and the main story line is complete (events of "His Harbinger") and after the Dawnguard DLC (events of "Something to Protect") Also not entirely cannon compliant. And of course this is a fanfiction, the only thing unique to me is my specific characterization of the Dragonborn, everything else belongs to Bethesda, including portions of the dialogue. Growing a reputation in their new reality is as easy as it is in the game - Whiterun's bandit problem may be more pronounced, but there's no shortage of capable assistants to help Killian clear out the dens, while Brighid tries to navigate the use of magic and deciphering the Dovahzul spoken to her by Alduin. Life in Skyrim is far from peaceful, but with no way back and a growing sense of home, the twins have focused on carving out a small slice of peace for themselves. However, a deeper turmoil is rooted in the lives of her children, Sofie and Hroar, as they try to navigate the reality of her legacy in the wake of her passing. A story about growing up, and grief. This story is slow to start, I'll admit that, but the meat of the story is far faster if you give it a chance. I've been working on this since February of 2023, and I've put a lot of heart and soul into this story and these characters. All reads, comments, and saves mean the world to me.
