Started on January 1st, 2020 A great tragedy and depression had came over the kingdom when the eldest son had committed suicide... that was two years ago. Now though, that the second eldest son is twenty and it's time to find a wife, or husband, to rule beside him. It won't be easy though. Because neither him or his parents believe the selection is REALLY for him, it should've been for his older brother, Samual. The kingdom is still devastated, but the depressing and reserved Prince Kayden doesn't want a partner from the selection, he just wants his brother back. As I was reading The Selection series, I was thinking to myself, why is the king so discriminating toward the castes? It annoyed me so much that I decided to write a The Selection book where King Clarkson is actually nice! He won't hate America or any other girl because of her low caste. She loves to sing, play music, dance, and draw. She doesn't want to enter the selection because she thinks the crown prince Adrian is a snob, stuck-up, and an obnoxious asshole. She doesn't believe in fate, or the one. Her family all work to keep themselves afloat, but just barely scrape by. Cypress is the second oldest, but became the oldest when her sister Katelyn married. She enters the selection to help her family after her younger brother Aaron gets sick and is diagnosed with leukemia. When she gets to the palace, she starts to fall deeper all the while surviving rebel attacks and rude bitches.
