The Lone Dove #1
Love and Trust are two very important ideals, but what happens when the moment you lose the two most important people in the world and are left with an inheritance, and a company you find you cannot trust anyone else with. That is Poppy Parker's predicament. She is a teenager that breaks tradition at Queen City high school, she is both a shadow and the subtle centre of attention.
She's noticed.
That is what is dangerous.
Her inheritance places her in the most precarious of positions, finding managers to trust, finding school to be complicated and not for the tasks at hand, but because her closest friends know next to nothing of her family. She's a Parker. Its a common name, a common label...not a title, not a legacy. Poppy is the last legacy, it is her birthright to live up to this name. The Elite at this high school find her shadows worth following, worth connecting with, worth trying to understand...that is the last thing she wanted. Poppy is private, she always has been, she was raised to be, her best friends were always kept at an arm's length, only told what they needed to know, not all that they could know. The Elite interfere with this line of safety.
What happens when they get too close?
What happens when her shadows reveal her secrets, making her friends question her absences at school, her authority over professors, her power over the elite themselves?
It all burns down in flames.
