"If you're planning on setting me up detective, I can assure that you will not find anything on me." Kiara said between clenched teeth.

"You're one hell of a cracked woman. You have no faith in me, do you?" Dean breathed.

Kiara didn't break though she was at the brink, "just as you said it yourself, I don't."

Dean nodded, his lips pulled out in a cute pout and said. "Well that's too bad but I have good intentions."

Kiara Johnson's trip to her father's home country of Senegal was a dream come true but she doesn't know not all dreams lead to beautiful destinations. Her sister's murder by some unknown thugs stirred up Kiara to search for them even from the pits of hell. But she has no idea the people she is up against: who are ready to kill, bribe, torture to achieve their goals.

But when Detective Dean Wilson put his career on the line to investigate mysterious murder cases, the journey gets darker.

Will Kiara succeed in her quest to find the murderers of her sister? Could the stake get any higher? Will Kiara and Dean find something else common to both of them?

What Game Will You Play by Bri-Bunny225

The New World has been the last peaceful and resourceful country for nearly two hundred years. Or at least that's what they say. Samantha Ivory has been living a boring average life in an old town with lots of history. That is, until the news of a carnival coming to town ignites new excitement. This carnival promises a night of fun for everyone. There are games, promising rewards, and food that no one has ever seen or tasted before. But what if this carnival isn't what it seems to be? And who are these people that have come into her town? Can Sam figure it out before it's too late, or will she get stuck playing a game she never wanted to play? (Currently completed as of October 2023, and finished editing as of March 2024) *****Excerpt***** Excerpt: Instead of seeing myself standing in front of me, there is somebody else and it's not my brother or anyone I know. A boy no older than me is just standing there, he is wearing a gray shirt with a hole in the shoulder and it has a handful of stains and dirt spots on it. I immediately know he is not from Treegrass. Not only have I never seen him before in my life but everyone in our town always wears nice clean and washed clothes, therefore nobody should be looking like him. The boy has a small cut on his cheek and is thin, a lot thinner than he should be. I look away from him and around at my surroundings, there is no one else here. I regain my composure and look at him again. That's when he says something that makes my blood run cold. "Run."

"I already killed your mother, Cam." As the words left my enemy's mouth like a mocking sneer, I growled under my breath at the mention of my old name. Memories started to boil up that I had been wanting to squash deep into my heart. Bad memories. "As you can guess, I'm here to finish the job." He continued with that ever-present sinister smirk on his face. And in that moment, a sudden burst of confidence just appeared within me. Or blatant stupidity. 'I'll take either one.' I silently admitted to myself. I rolled my eyes at his so-called 'threat', not really intimidated in the least. "Yeah, like that went so well the first time. The first time, you fucked up enough to get caught by the police." I pointed out. "The second time, your grown-ass men got their asses handed to them by two teenagers." I snorted at him. "Your odds aren't looking too good here, Berti." ~•~ Losing her father? Lovely. Getting in a car accident with her aunt, uncle, and cousin and being the sole survivor? Fantastic. Losing her mother because a deranged psychopath holds a grudge even better than The Grinch? Amazing. Being ostracized from her own family save from her paternal grandparents, and getting the blame for her mother's death? Cherry on top of the cake. Having to make sure three idiotic twats don't get themselves killed because they couldn't mind their own bloody business? Bloody hell, that's an entire ice cream cake with ten pounds of gummy bears. ~•~ Join Grace Stanton as she faces her demons and the demons of her past all while trying not to commit murder against her three new friends. Fun times. (First book in the Gilded series) ~•~ [#1 Streetracer - 4/21/21] [#1 Gangs - 9/16/21] [#1 Boxer - 9/12/21] [#1 Fighter - 12/11/21] [#2 Boxing - 9/3/21] [#1 Girlpower - 2/12/21]

"I want you to be my private dancer." he says. "What's that?" I ask and he chuckles. "I want you to dance for me and me only." "Why?" "You think I want other men to see what's mine." "I'm not yours you are married for heavens sakes." "So?" "So it means focus on your marriage and wife and let me do my job as a dancer and go home afterwards.
