It's 1950, four years before segregation in the US officially ended and eighteen years old, Jakkie has had enough. Throughout her school life, she'd been discriminated against and separated. She attended a black only elementary and high school and she didn't have any hope in her university education. Conditions were horrible. From disgusting bathrooms to the worst seats ever on the public bus. Her father passed away when she was very young, meaning she had grown up with her mother.

Little did she know how soon segregation will end, as people began protesting. Rules are being taken down area by area, but will Jakkie keep her hope in a town where nothing seems to change? Or she herself is unable to view the real change being done?
