Ashton Stanton has lived in the small country town of Bolton for her entire life. She is known across town as the Mayor of Bolton's daughter and she has been perfectly content living up to her family's high expectations, until her brother and best friend Tommy becomes one of five students killed in a shooting at Bolton High School.
Ashton struggles with the reality of her brother's death and her perfect family façade slowly begins to unravel as they all break under the weight of grief that follows in the wake of Tommy's death.
Feeling lost and alone Ashton finds herself spiralling down into a dark abyss of despair and the unlikely association of a young boy named Wesley Martin is the last thing that she ever imagined would help her get through these hard times. Wesley lives across town on the other side of the tracks and he is everything that Ashton's Father dissuades her to associate with, but the more time Ashton spends with Wesley, the easier Tommy's death becomes to bare. He offers her a shoulder to lean on and she learns that it is okay to feel and to grieve because emotions are what make us all human.
Determined to stand up to her Father and make a difference in Bolton, Ashton works to rally the people of her small town together and urges them to unite, despite their differences, in order to ensure that no other young lives at Bolton High School are ever lost at the hands of a student with a gun.

Info of my writing style and this book: • This book is written from the first-person point of view. Everything he thinks about; everything you read, will be the exact moment of everything that's happening. When Nathaniel gets cut off and interrupted, his thoughts will be interrupted as well. • I'll put seven periods to indicate a change in the scene; to show that time has passed since the last scene. • Bolded names are important characters to Nathaniel and the story • This book contains vulgar and sometimes erotic descriptive language. • This book is targeted toward a young adult audience.

Between Two Hearts In a quiet Southern town where whispers carry farther than the wind, Alaina finds herself trapped in the storm of her own emotions. Life was simpler when it was just her and Alex, her steadfast childhood sweetheart. Alex's easygoing charm and familiar warmth had always made her feel safe-like home. But lately, their love, once full of promise, has started to feel like a cage. Then came Damien. Mysterious and magnetic, he arrived in town with a past he kept hidden and eyes that seemed to see straight into her soul. His presence was a stark contrast to the life Alaina knew. With him, she felt free-alive in a way she never had before. As her feelings for Damien grew, so did her guilt. Alex had stood by her through everything, through heartbreaks and triumphs. He loved her completely, even when she doubted herself. But how could she ignore the pull she felt toward Damien? His quiet intensity and the way he challenged her to dream bigger, to think of a life beyond the town's borders, were impossible to resist. Caught between two loves-one rooted in comfort and history, the other in uncharted passion-Alaina struggles to find herself amidst the chaos. Her decision will not only define her future but risk tearing apart everything she holds dear. As Alaina confronts the delicate balance between the love that built her and the love that awakens her, she must decide: will she follow her heart's desire or stay loyal to the one who has always been by her side?
