Wilderness.

Danvers, Massachussetts was a very special city, or so it was to the rest of the world. On 1998 the first outburst (on record) of humans with some sort of special "gift". These humans had abilities and mutations that made them different than the rest. Slowly, as the years went by, these gifted people started to find a common ground to fight against the laws that where starting to get created against them. Police became more violent towards them and the world became scared of the idea of people with abilities to burn down houses, drown people and murder them with the movement of their wrist. Then, "Heroes" started to be born. People with these abilities (some without) started helping the people that spread hate towards them, making people feel safe as they where fighting against others with similar abilities.

As the years went by, different places around the world where known as "Wilderness", where it was only filled with people with powers living together in apparent harmony. Massachussets, became one of these wilderness. The only thing with this particular part, was that most of the rich and wealthy of them gathered there, making a huge contrast with the poor sections in the city.

The most prestigious school was known as the Thorsend School, for brilliant minds. Where only the wealthiest and the smartest gathered. Some of the students entered based on merit and hard work, others just entered on their parents bank account and past actions.

Not everyone's goal is to become the next hero, that's for sure, but teenagers will always be teenagers and fear is one of the most efficient ways to make your ground.
