Martyrs and Magic

After a king's unjust treatment of his subjects leaves everything but himself in ruins, Bethany takes it in her hands to set things right. Once a masquerade is held, her time is now.

The palace was more beautiful then I could have ever imagined. The walls were covered with roses, lilies, ivy, jasmine, and lavenders. Statues of past rulers greeted newcomers, and so did the brilliant paintings.

Each king, queen and their families seemed to smile at me from their canvas and frame, knowing I was going to fix what their offspring had ruined. The chandelier's were dimmed for the occasion, and left the candelabras to work their magic, to light the way to revolution.
