I blinked. Castor. The name felt foreign on my tongue, like something I wasn't supposed to know.
I hesitated before murmuring, "Castor..."
His fingers, which had been pressing a fresh cloth against my wounds, stilled.
Something shifted in the air between us.
"...Say it again," he murmured, his voice quieter this time.
I frowned, confused. "Castor."
It wasn't the name itself, but the way I said it-soft, almost hesitant. Like I was trying to figure out who he was beyond the version I had built in my mind.
