Sahari Evans is a quiet seventeen year old with a heart of gold. She's the sweetest person you'd ever meet, and often puts others before herself. When her old childhood best friend moves back to town and just so happens to be in her first period class, Sahari doesn't know how to react. The caring and gentle little boy she grew up with once before was now a different person. He was more rough around the edges and a total ladies man. As the two rekindle, the feelings Sahari had for him before he moved away began to resurface. Being too afraid to tell him how she really feels, she writes him letters and keeps them in a journal.

When the journal somehow gets into the hands of the wrong person, things start to go downhill.

Will things remain the same between them once he finds out? Will Sahari finally get the guy of her dreams?

Carissa Belfiore's mission was simple; hunt down the man terrorising her city and burn his syndicate's web of deceptions to the ground. The catch though? She must work together with the devil in disguise. 𐀔𐀔𐀔 Four months after the trail went dark, Cara and her team gain a second chance at retribution, at tracking down the man responsible for the mysterious chain of disappearances plaguing the streets of her town. Retribution, though, comes at a cost. Missing people and stolen identities unsolved, Cara's boss presents to her with a new ultimatum. She must pursue this mission with Asrea's top (infuriating) agent or lose the rights to the case. With no other choice, Cara must learn to thread the thin line of peace with the devil disguised as a federal agent, one who has little belief in patience and even less so for mistakes. Much like everything else though, it was easier said than done. As the two of them begin to dismantle the empire brick by brick, Cara finds herself pulling at loose strings tying the pieces of the missing puzzles connecting her past to her present. Strings, she soon realises, had been buried by the hands of someone desperately trying to keep her from finding out the truth. A truth that might just break her. No retrogrades, no reversals, and no unknowing the known. If only she could've done it alone, for even the devil must be paid his dues. The devil whose icy, blue eyes never fail to see through every shield and every shadow she'd built around her heart, the very shadows that seem to calm within his presence. The man whose icy rage threatens to thaw her blazing heart. 𐀔𐀔𐀔 First Draft Completed on 12/1/2025 Completed on 12/3/2025

She looks up at me, taking a step forward and smiling slightly, "How can I ever get hurt when I have you here to protect me?" "But you could have gotten hurt," I murmur softly, hanging my head and feeling my shoulders drop, the tension seeping from my body. "No. Stop," She cuts me off sternly but tenderly, "Don't talk like that, Reece. I'm okay, you're okay, we're okay," She speaks softly, reaching her hand up to gently brush her thumb over my cheek, just under the cut that's there. "We're okay," I repeat, taking a small step closer to her. She nods with a small smile, moving her hand down from my cheek and instead placing the palm of her hand on my chest, right over my heart. I know she can feel how fast my heart is beating. I just don't know why it's doing that. ~ Reece Carter is the bad boy of Northwood High. He smokes and he fights. "I only date black guys." "So because of the pigment of my skin you won't give me a chance." "Basically. No hard feelings though. Besides I like something I can...grab." She looked down toward my **** and proceeded to leave. Before she could walk away I pulled her toward me. "Do that feel small to you?" _________________________________________ Jaelyn Evans didn't date much. She's known as cold, aloaf, unapproachable. She has a permanent resting bitch face and curved every guy that came around. She had her own group of friends; her model: no new friends. So when she saw Axel around her friends. She was annoyed. Did that stop Axel, nope. If anything that only made him want her more. Axel Parks wasn't always popular, if anything he was the exact opposite, but after the summer of Junior year, he glowed up. His popularity immediately changed and he was a magnet with the ladies, he could get any girl he wanted. Except the one girl he really wanted didn't want him or any guy for that matter, but he wasn't going to give up.
