They both graduated as juniors and still lived at home since they didn't have enough money saved up for an apartment. One night Khalid couldn't sleep because that morning he got a visit from his dad, who wasn't there when he was growing up, and it's bothering him. He wakes up Alex and asks if they can go for a walk. They live right next door to one another so Alex agrees. They start walking and out of nowhere there's a gun shot and Khalid drops. Alex, already having her CNA license, take her hoodie off and applies pressure.
