We date the year 1975. The band Queen is recording their fourth album 'A Night at the Opera' in an outback farm where fun and parties are sadly no option for the boys. Boredom, however, doesn't seem to get to them as many things are going on between them, especially between Brian May, the guitarist and Roger Taylor, the drummer. Happiness....A Different Kind of Maylor Love Story
Brian May led a simple but somewhat lonely life. He thought it was enough to own a record store and to dabble in his side interests. Photography, star gazing and writing songs and being with his close friends. His success in the dating world had hit an all time low and he had thrown in the towel. Little did he know his life was about to get turned upside down. When a famous music group is in town for some shows he has an unlikely encounter that not only shifts his future but literally and figuratively rocks his world. Roger Taylor is a bored and burned out rock star looking for something more meaningful in his life than one night stands both on the stage and in his bed. He meets someone who makes him question his future and his true desires. Will Roger risk everything to have something deeper than a top 40 single? Will Roger find what has truly evaded him for ages? Happiness.... This is a side trip from the traditional format for Maylor and takes place in an alternate universe away from Queen. I have borrowed some things from their real lives to enhance the story and give it some familiarity. I have not placed a time stamp on this story as my world contains music from the 70s, 80s and beyond. MTV exists in the way that it did in the 1980s. Each chapter title will be a song and will be accompanied by a video of that track to listen to before or during reading. I hope you like my fresh take on our favorite couple! The Art of Attraction
This story takes place in late 2021 when the Covid pandemic is starting to wane and people are returning to regular life again. Roger is a married man in his mid 40's and John is an art gallery owner in his 40's who has known Roger since school. Freddie is the young artist having a gallery show and Brian is his professor friend from the university where Freddie sometimes teaches drawing and painting courses. Brian is in his late 50's. This was originally housed under a title called - In Another World. A collection of short fics. Since this has become a long fic, I moved it out to be a stand alone piece.
