A Treatise on the Sealing of Chaos, Book One

In the beginning, there was nothing.
But it wasn't simply nothing, it- moved, and twisted- and it spoke. This nothing named itself Chaos. When Chaos birthed the gods, they considered him a tyrant who knew and saw too much. The first gods sealed Chaos, their father, away in a shell. To disguise this shell so that nobody would ever release the entity within, they seeded life on it and called it a planet. Then, they left for a new world, the land of knowledge and the place of their rest. But as the gods' hold on the planet weakened, fractures in the shell allowed Chaos to flow freely. In the absence of their creators, the life there began to worship Chaos as the supreme deity. Will the gods be awakened from their slumber before it's too late?
