She had told him that they could go somewhere warm, before. Somewhere that he could see the ocean, the blue oceans, not the muddy murky mess that laps at the edges of King's landing. Somewhere without the shadows that lurk in the halls of this castle.
But that was before.
Before the war. Before her brother became a king. Before she became more than just a lady of Winterfell, and before Gendry stayed the same- only a bastard, a bastard from fleabottom that never quite learned to stop thinking that the world would give him more than his station deserved. There is nothing for him here, and yet- he'll stay, because she's here, because everything in his life begins and ends with her.
