During the fall of Cybertron, the Autobots try to leave the war ravaged Cybertron behind in search of sanctuary. But Megatron isn't about to let his enemies overcome him. Whilst the Autobots are pursued off planet by the Decepticons, Megatron's final attack begins, but needs a volunteer. Being a superior pilot compared to the other Seekers, Red Wing was given the very important task to shoot down the shield generators on the outside of the Ark, but was stranded outside the Nemesis while Megatron and his forces boarded the Ark to destroy Optimus Prime and the Autobots. As both ships hurtle out of control towards an unknown planet, Red Wing is knocked off the Ark and sent plummeting to the planet below, nearly burning up in the atmosphere. While The Ark has crashed inside of an active volcano, and The Nemesis has landed on the ocean floor, Red Wing lays in stasis in a cold merciless land for four million years. The harsh cold seems to preserve his resting place as time marches onward, reshaping the land around him as if the very planet was trying to cover him up from existence. Found and tortured by the Nazis for months Red Wing saw no salvation until a young U.S.S.R sniper frees him during World War II. Now being reawakened with no memories of his previous life, and surrounded by a nation of tough, heavy drinking, war hungry Soviets, Red Wing becomes Russia's secret weapon "The Red Menace". (This takes place in a G1 headcanon)
