Khyra was with her five year old son Chaska and his twelve year old friend Cole picking fruit off a tree at the lake. Khyra told the boys to stay close and that they were leaving to go back to the village. Khyra turned her back on the boys for a second to bend down to pick up the fruit that fell from her hand.
She collected herself and turned her head to check on the boys, but they weren't there.

Compared to before the event, she was always the most patient and understanding with her tribe. Khyra profusely searches day and night for the vanished boys.
