Hana Haruto, a seventeen-year-old girl who was actually born in America even though she is Japanese. Hana is actually of the Higurashi family, she has a different last name due to her having her father's last name. Her mother, Nitta Haruto, and her father, Kasai Haruto, met online as teenagers. Her father's family lived in America, so when Nitta got old enough he paid for her flight there to get married and live with him. They lived happily, had their baby girl Hana, nothing could go wrong! Or so they thought. Nitta Haruto passed away when Hana was four, Kasai got a call from the neighbor saying Hana had run to their house saying "Mama is shaking and white stuff is coming out of her mouth." It turned out Nitta had a horrible reaction to the recent medication she got for her lung infection, this worsened that condition and she left this world. For thirteen years Kasai tried to be a single father, balancing taking care of the home, his daughter, and work non-stop to pay pills, but it was too much for him. He was never too connected with his family, but thankfully Nitta's family welcomed him with open arms. They all worked together to pay for the flight to Japan. Here, is where Hana's life will change drastically.
