A lot of theories were proposed; Dark magic from captured unicorns, chemicals and environmental hazards that no sane pony would tolerate, and even thoughts of another unknown sister of Celestia’s, destined to create the Spectra instead of raising the Sun or the Moon. None of them could be farther than the truth.

When a huge war breaks out in Equestria Princess Twilight loses everything she loved and cherished the most. Her friends, her family, her Mentor, her Castle, Everything. Okay, good. So, this is obviously a sequel to my last story, Songs of Innocence, but if you haven't read that, that's okay! The explosive first chapter of this story will seamlessly make you understand who Sun is, which is what's most important! You can even think of the previous story as just the pilot, while this is the main series, so to speak. This story will be a much more... casual read. Unlike SoI 1, this one is not based on a previous draft, so I'll just be making it up as I go along this time. Oh, and by the way, I think I gotta say this, so... The princesses explain that the mirror from which Sunset Shimmer escaped is a gateway to an alternate world and task Twilight with going into this other world to retrieve her crown.
