La Isla Remolinos es un lugar común, dónde se encuentra un pequeño pueblo bajo el nombre de Brouillard, hogar de gente corriente. En su año sabático antes de entrar a la universidad, Valentina y Mateo Caimanis vivirán allí, bajo el cuidado de su tía Agnes, la cual no se percatará de que casi nunca van a estar en la casa.
