Sawyer Hadley is not thrilled to be moving once again halfway through her grade eleven year. She's never finished a school year at the same school which is why she lives by her three rules.

Don't make close friends. Don't join long term teams/clubs. Don't fall in love.

She's even more annoyed over the situation when she learns that there is no girls soccer team. So what does she do? She tries out for the boys team.

The captain, Connor Devitt, is not amused. He thinks she's just a little girl wasting his, and the teams time. He's cold, doesn't get impressed very easily, and uses the word pathetic more then a normal person should.

They don't get along. To him she's pathetic. To her he's an asshole.

But as time goes on, her walls start to lower and she finds herself breaking all of her rules. Especially when it comes to her captain. But who is Connor? As time goes on, maybe they can help each other
