The King Dies in the End
...but the story belongs to them.

A girl, starving to death in her village, receives an offer from the king that she can't refuse in an attempt to save her family from certain death. She does not realize what the consequences to her agreement will be.

A nanny, who has cared for the prince, heir to the throne, since he was only a few months old, is being blackmailed. She has a secret, one that has to do with the queen, and will do anything to save herself from being exposed.

The queen, running away in the dead of night with her two-month-old son strapped to her chest, is determined to never return to the castle. But a persistent mercenary sent to kill her and return her son to the very place she's fleeing will make her reconsider everything she's done to protect her children.
