The Chronicles of Narnia
"Oh. Milady Ashton, are you going to the ball for King Peter." The young centaur shyly asked Ashton. Ashton crouched down next to her, meeting her eye level with a friendly smile, "I'm afraid I don't know what you mean, little one." "You know... The ball thing... Mommy told me it was the King's opportunity to woo a lady of Narnia." She explains with her limited vocabulary and a small lisp. "A courting ball?" Ben asks the little one. "That's it!" She exclaims, "Are you going?" "I guess we will see, we haven't been back to the castle since the war," Ashton tells the five-year-old, sugarcoating her response to avoid disappointing the child. "Ohh." She nodded before leaning down to Ash to whisper in her ear, "My father told me stories from the war, of course not the stories with too much fighting, but he mentioned the greatness of the prophesied. You were always my favorite." She giggles. Ash didn't know what to say as the little centaur bounced away. She stood from the party, needing a minute outside. Edmund followed her after her, wanting to help his dear friend with the news. "Ash, I'm sure there's an explanation." "Yes, a simple one Ed. I left. Your brother owes me nothing. It is his choice. If he wants every spoiled, perfect, primitive, self-centered princess within a hundred miles lining up at his feet. That is his choice and does not concern me." Ashton admits, more negatively than she intended. "This is not going to end well." Ben comments, openly. ╣╠ Ashton returns to Cair Paravel and it is clear that in the two years she spent away, much has changed. ╣╠ Multiple POV ╣╠ Story intertwined with the golden ages after The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe by C. S. Lewis. I only own Ashton, Benvolio, and any other characters not in the books or movies. ╣╠

| Book One | Before Narnia, before the Pevensies became kings and queens, there was Selene Kingsley-the Pevensies' closest friend and the one they never quite noticed was anything more than a shadow in their lives. They had each other, but she had always had him: Peter, the fearless older brother, the protector, the one who commanded attention. And for years, she watched from the sidelines, a silent admirer, forever cast in the role of a sister-his little sister, as he called her, never suspecting that her heart belonged to him. In the quiet moments before their lives would change forever, before they stepped into the world that would call them kings and queens, she kept her feelings hidden. She didn't want to be the one who disrupted the harmony of their friendship-especially when the love she felt for him seemed like an impossible dream. But fate, and the prophecy, had other plans. When the time comes, and Narnia opens its doors to them, she will face the choice of a lifetime: remain the invisible friend, or step into her true destiny-a queen who has always loved him, but may never be loved in return. I only own Selene and her story. All other characters belong to C.S. Lewis and The Chronicles of Narnia.
