It's been years since Ladybug and Chat Noir had defeated Hawkmoth during there second to last year of high school(11th grade) and chat noir had disappeared after that. Marinette had developed strong feeling for the cat and was heartbroken that he never came back for her, or ladybug really, for a goodbye. Marinette had to move on from her life in Paris, as she now attends the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York pursuing her fashion dreams. It's her last year of school and she's been doing great so far. She was able to keep her miraculous in case of another attack. But what happens if her black cat appears in the dead of night again...

But she's injured protecting him from an akuma and he feels responsible for her. Intent on making it up to her, Chat Noir visits her regularly to make sure she's doing well. But it doesn't take long before their meetings become more than just casual check-ups. Bad things happen when superheroes fall for civilians, but even with the threat of Hawk Moth looming around, Chat can't seem to stay away. Will the risks be worth it in the end? She suddenly felt like she shouldn't be hearing this because she was Ladybug. "Okay, shoot it." He bit his lip, maybe unsure how to word it. "Well... I kinda tried to court her for at least the last 7 months. She didn't accept it, and I finally accepted that myself... but I guess my question is why she might not have wanted me. I'm sorry, I'm not even sure you could answer that... It just seems like Ladybug trusts you, so maybe she mentioned something to you?" -- Marinette Dupain-Cheng, a usually stubborn, headstrong girl, finally gives up on liking Adrien Agreste. He can't seem to take the hint, and she can't seem to conjure the confidence just to tell him. Chat Noir's identity has been revealed in the worst possible way imaginable - In front of a nation-wide broadcast crew while facing an Akuma. His life is shaken dramatically, nothing can be the same again, and there is only one source of stability for both Adrien Agreste and Chat Noir now. Meanwhile, Marinette has to come to terms that the person she's admired and her occasionally irritating but trustworthy partner, are one in the same, all while reeling from visits from a certain cat she's grown particularly fond of.
