When I got to second period, I saw John at the front desk with Mr. Soren. I began to walk to my desk when the teacher called me to the desk. I groaned inwardly stood by John, he was looking at me with hope in his eyes. But fate, decided that it would kick me in the ass.
I mentally slapped myself when I heard the news. Even though I wasn't happy about it, I said in a neutral tone, "No," and began to walk to my seat, ignoring the detest from the teacher and the stares from the students.
John sat down beside me and passed me a note on it while staring at me like I was a freak. I am, so stay away, The note said, "Come on Skadi, please, I need your help for this class. Plus I wanna talk to you. Can't you see that I want to be friends?" I looked at the handsome, annoying guy with a "Are you serious?" look.
He smiled, "Your voice is beautiful, you know that?"
"Are you going to answer my question?" I say, scratching my bandage from underneath the hoodie.
He looks down at my wrist and then back up in my eyes with curiosity as he whispers, "I don't know. You're just, you're just different. You do things, that other girls don't like train for starters. And you don't hang out with anyone, and you're a mystery that I just want to figure out."

"Why did you do that?" I asked as I entered the classroom and set my books on his desk.
"What did I do?" he replied, not looking up.
"I waved at you, and you ignored me. And now you're asking what you did?" I explained, wondering if he had forgotten.
"What happened between us last night was a moment of weakness. I don't want to be seen with you. I'm sorry if I led you on." He spoke quickly, gathered his books, and left, leaving me standing there alone.
I stood frozen, unable to move, my mind blank. I blinked as tears traced down my cheeks-the same cheeks he had held in his palms when he said he loved me.
"Where did that 'love' go?" I whispered to myself.
