When a wounded man turns up at Fort Death, Dylan has a real-life superhero on his hands. Only this one is full of bullet holes and is bleeding all over the place. Also, he talks funny. Almost like he's not used to being around kids, or people. Dylan tries his best to help, but the dude isn't getting any better. He needs a doctor...or something. Ally is relieved to get the call from Dylan. Sure, it's the middle of the night. And yeah, her kid brother is even more annoying than usual. But she's been trying desperately for two weeks to figure out how to explain to her mom why she is leaving school at the beginning of the semester and coming home in September instead of on Christmas day like all the other students in her nursing program. Dylan's cryptic plea for her return is exactly what she needs. She knows it's just a stupid bid for attention, and she can easily blame him for ruining her semester if she can't work up the courage to tell her mom the truth: that she's not going back to school. Ever. What she finds at home is much bigger than an excuse to ruin all her plans. In fact, it's much bigger than anyone she's ever seen. The dude is huge and stronger than anyone has a right to be. It's pretty scary, actually. He could snap her like a twig, and she's not exactly wafer-thin. But Dylan insists the guy doesn't want to hurt them. And he obviously needs her help. In fact, after looking at his wounds, she's not even sure how he's still alive. Dylan's theories about a superhero in his little tree house can't possibly be true. Still, there's something different about the stranger that scares her. And the weirdest part? He seems scared too. © 2019 DoubleJinxBuyMeSoda

Superheroes lost their world to a supervillain takeover. The superheroes escape the world, locking access to and from it. They go on to cultivate other worlds and continue their superhero bloodlines. An unknown amount of time passes, and our story picks up on mature earth. We meet Sarah, a young woman who was homeschooled all her life, and a nerd wishing for adventure like her Japanese comics and video games promised. Everything changed when the city mall was infested with magical insects and her family was abducted. Sarah meets Akili, a Fae who was with the original superheroes entrusted with the task of training superheroes if the supervillains should ever return. Soon Kanye, who wants to be a peacekeeper for his neighborhood, joins their cause and Jabbar, who is an outcast in a world he despises but his family rules over. They will live and train in a mansion empowered by Fae magic, travel to different worlds, and make pacts with creatures and beings, all while collecting shards infused with power from their superhero ancestors before the supervillains do. With help from their guardians and Akili, can these superheroes save all worlds from an army of supervillains? Or will they fail like their ancestors did?
