Beatrix Durham had a hard life living in District 12. Her mother was crippled from a past game she was in. Her father lived and worked in District 3. Which left Beatrix to be the only one supporting her and her mother. She worked in the Mellark's Bakery which helped keep her and her mother stocked with food. Her difficult life gets even harder when she is chosen for the games along with her close friend Peeta Mellark.
