Nathaniel Kaczmarek was just twenty-two when the Russians invaded Poland, where as a newly drafted soldier, he was mortally wounded. His body was taken in by an old engineer woman who restored him to glory and beyond, outfitting organic life with machine. All the while, the Germans beat the Americans to developing the first nuclear weapon- and drastically. The bomb, dropped onto America by way of German fear, obliterated the continent and 95% of all human life. Decades later, humans survive in small communities, together- all except for Navi, the metal angel.

Ground Zero
A nuclear apocalypse after a terrible war renders the earth barren and void of life. A lone remnant of that war, a bio-metric wolf with metal bones beneath living flesh and skin wanders aimlessly, unsure of purpose or direction. The robotic parts are the only thing keeping it alive for its hundred year lifespan. One day it encounters something strange, something different; a human boy. The boy is unafraid of the wolf and is, in fact, excited to see it. He is looking for animals who his mother told him were ancient guardians of his people and a sign of the one thing they had been waiting so long for; life. But the boy is unaware that this wolf was an animal-like weapon used to hunt down and destroy his people and not a "real" animal at all. Together the boy and the wolf will discover what being alive truly means, and how to navigate through a world reborn in radioactive peril.Complete

The zombie apocalypse started in April. Hannah couldn't fathom how she was able to remember something so irrelevant, although when she has over a year of isolation from any other living human being it's startling as to how much detail and information one person can manage to reminisce. She was 15 years old when it began. Now, she was turning 17 and nothing had gotten better. If anything, everything had become harder. Human extinction was inevitable and the probability of surviving wasn't just slightly possible, it was impossible. Especially when she's alone.
