Kalo is a young orphaned gypsy living in a small Andalusian city on the Iberian Peninsula.  One day, a traveling show comes to town, full of wild and eccentric features and sideshows, and the showman offers Kalo a place in his show because of his unique birth defect. Kalo gladly accepts, desperate to belong. His new family of sideshow performers and exotic animals teaches him what it means to choose your family, the dangers in uncovering secrets and solving mysteries, and what magic lies among his Spanish Romani ancestry.
