Eden is what many would call a utopia, the perfect society so many ancient civilizations have strived towards. Each citizen is given the opportunity to be a productive member of this country, and in return, they can always count on having food and shelter. However, there is always a catch. At the age of 17, all young adults must enter the Lottery, an event in which ten names will be drawn. Those chosen will become test subjects for Eden Incorporated, the company founded by its ruling body of ten scientists. When Evelyn is selected, she must fight to bring down the seemingly innocuous enterprise that she will soon find out has much darker, ulterior motives.
