A tragedy happened so many years ago. Almost no one could remember it. It started from a simple conflict between 3 group of Wizard clans but ended up on a war. The 1st clan even tried to do it in peace but still nothing changed. They ended up destroying families and lives and most importantly their planet.
Chances of survivors were so little that the council did not budge to dig more about it.
One can say this is probably just some bedtime story. But don't judge the book by its cover. You don't know what things are inside it.
