Simple answer, David created one type of alien and the predators created their own hundreds of years before. After many, many years, when a crew appear suddenly, he cannot help but find curiosity in them, even more so when an android, a brother in arms, is with them. Who and why are the crew of the Covenant here? And who are the other mysterious colonists which keep getting mentioned? Not all is what it appears to be within Paradise, and honestly, David doesn't find himself caring all that much.
