Liliana Tyler is they mayor's daughter. She's the president of the National Junior Honor Society and the student council, captain of the debate team, and was on the varsity football team. She volunteered at the animal shelter and tutored students at the nearby middle school. The entire community respected and admired her. Her longtime boyfriend, Miles Blackwood, was a freshman at Princeton University, the school both Miles and Liliana hoped to graduate from. She had the perfect life. On paper. Sawyer Laughlin is the son of an alcoholic plumber who went on a bender three years ago and hadn't been seen since. Sawyer had once been on the varsity football team until he found a more enjoyable passtime: smoking weed. Academics were different. He had had a 4.0 GPA since freshman year, not that he would ever tell his friends. He was dating a girl he wasn't even sure if he liked. Sawyer and Liliana weren't anything alike but soon enough they'd find out that they had more in common than they thought.
