"Yes please! I'd kill for a margarita!" Garcia's chirpy voice can be heard across the bullpen.
"Who's in?" Rossi smiles at everyone.
"In for what?" Hotch asks, joining the team by Morgan's desk.
"We're uh, all going out for drinks." Emily chimes in, secretly hoping Hotch would join but knowing deep down he never did.
"Sure I'll come." Hotch smiles at Emily.
She's at a loss for words and Hotch can see the surprised yet eager expression on her face.
"Hey, I'm not always so serious ya know." He winks at Emily and glances at the team before walking away to collect his things.

Hotchner and Reid really finally see one another. It takes time, heartache and a few drinks for them to get there, but they eventually do. This story is a slow burn and features a little bit of all of our favorite BAU members. Will use some actual cases from the show and well, strap in... it's going to be fun. Rated M for later chapters which will involve some sexually explicit material. A/N: Obviously some things are different, because this is fanfiction, but I have tried to keep things in character. The most obvious change comes right away in the first chapter. I have altered Reid's "confession" from the episode "Revelations" in Season Two. There are some details of Hotch/Haley that were changed as well to better suit my story. Without giving too much away, Hotch is a widower and single parent to Jack in my universe. This is set around Season 5-ish of the show, but in my story Jack is nearly seven years old. Enjoy.

"We always say that unsubs make the best profilers, she is proof of that" Hotch said as the doors slowly opened. "Hello again boys" Athena smiled from the other side of the metal desk she was chained to. Reid frowned as she winked at him. "Glad the black eye has healed; I was afraid I damaged your pretty little face forever" she said referring to the time they tried to catch her, and she beat Reid up pretty badly before escaping. Athena was the most dangerous type of unsub, she was smart and had all the skills to be a expect level profiler and she absolutely used that against the team when they were asked to track her down. A criminal minds fanfic, not based on any of the shows timeline but a mismatch of them to create its own. A psychopathic unsub is recruited to join the team after they finally caught her after 3 years of her taunting them, will she join the team? Or will the history, secrets she knows and flirtatious tension between her and her new teammates be to much for everyone to handle?
