"Dani, I want you to say 'hello' to Prince Garrett," my father spoke gently, resting his hand on my back lightly.
I looked up at him with clear blue eyes and smiled, "Okay, Papa."
The King stepped forward, a gentle nudge on the shoulder encouraging his son. I stood upright, curtsying clumsily before the prince, just like I had learned. "Hello Prince Garrett," I said shyly.
The King laughed, "What a sweetheart you have there, Richard."
My father laughed, "A darling she is, Michael my friend."
Garrett looked at the girl and smiled, "Hello Dani." He took her hand and placed a quick kiss on the back of it, as instructed by his tutors. He stepped back and stood dutifully next to his father, the King of [].
"Dani, will you come play with me?" Garrett requested, holding out his hand for hers once more.
I smiled shyly, "Of course, sir prince."
With a gentle pat on the crown of my head from my father, we ran off into the gardens, holding hands.
The two men shared a knowing look.

As I see my mom walk out the door I look at my dad smiling at me. The way he smiled at me made realize how afraid he was. I glance at him and give him a fake smile before he comes up to me and gives me a hug. The warmth of his body was reassuring but I feel the tears start to come down his face. I didn't want to lose him......ever. My dad Kevin who always is there by my side needed me there for him I glance at him and smile and he kisses my cheek. He whispers "Everything...will be alright."
