In 2011 The Second Chance cure is administered to people affected by The Angel Strain. TSC is thought to have been the cure for it, but the researchers were wrong. Now, a majority of the population is one of "The Cured", perpetually searching for the one thing to end their hunger. Human flesh. One of the few people left is 16 year old Haven, and shes not going down without a fight.

Therese meets an angry Dream Shepherd who says she has a deficit of dreams. The dream bothers her enough to go online to find a mystic/specialist, Madame Marianne. Madame had a reputation for curing dreams and told of taking control of Therese's dream shepherd by taking a vial of her expensive concoction for pure R.E.M. sleep.
