She looked into my eyes with terror. "Rick you don't have to do this there has to be another way." She said gripping my hand tightly as a tear slowly made it's way down her face. I looked at her with a hardened expression. "This is what has to be done for the sake of the camp and if I'm the only one that can then I'll do whatever it takes to keep you safe Aria." I said touching her face gently. An ear splitting roar came from the forest and this time closer. "You have to go now Aria." I said turning away. She grabs my shoulder and turns me back and she kisses me. I pull back and look down. "I love you till the end." She said turning away and running towards the front of the camp and leaving with everyone else. I tug on my aviator jacket and smile weakly. "I love you mom." I said kissing the jacket and flipping my sword out. I click my armor on and take a step closer to the forest. I hear stomping, the ground shaking and then I see it's bright yellow eyes stare at me. "I'm ready."

This story really starts in the middle. Ari, who often goes by A, is propped up against a tree in the middle of a forest with a dagger in her stomach. She's lost a lot of blood already, and she keeps losing more. Helios is kneeling next to her, and they're both trying to figure out what to do. I'll start at the beginning, though. Ari is a wanderer, traveller, adventurer, and lots of other things. She doesn't have a home, until one day she does. She's chased into the Akiire territory by the Akiire's enemies; the Tesera. Luckily for her, the chief of the Akiire tribe takes her in. Akiire medicine men and women fuss over her until they're sure she's safe. Then the Akiire initate her as a member of their tribe. She gladly accepts. She's started to like it there, after all. Then Helios starts talking to her. He's nothing special in the tribe. He's a good warrior, but all the warriors are good. The bad ones have already died. Nonetheless, by the time we get to the forest with the dagger and all that, A has only spoken to Helios a few times. Now he's her only way to stay alive.Complete

"Do you really want to test me Dante?" He asks raising a single eyebrow. For a minute the men stop their movements. I see their hesitation for fear... Fear of what? I take the moment to stick Cassandra behind a nearby tree. She crouches down while I pull my sword out from its place. "How do you know my name?" The scoundrel raises his sword challenging towards the boy before taking a final step towards him. Then the unexpected happens. The young boy chuckles so darkly. It sounded almost... demonic. The old hag grinned. It was an unpleasant sort of grin. A yellow-toothed, wizened, knowing sort of grin. They were tired, and it was dark, and they had already stopped for the night. They didn't know the old hag meant them no harm. They didn't know she only wanted to tell them a story. She looked at the still-frozen pair, the flickering firelight illuminating her beady black eyes. "There's a knight who cheated his quest, see," she said, in a rather normal voice. One of her companions started. In surprise? Fear? Who knew. "Ah well, it can't be avoided, I suppose." She sat, slowly, on the nearest log which had been pulled up to the fire.
