After a dark shadow darkens the lives of the twins and their friends things seem to change as they embark on their third year at Dusk Manor. With visits to Withering Brook, a new student shadowing Denice causes her to second guess her feelings, with the new student comes new threats to the school with a deep secret and the lives of the staff and students. Carter faces his own darkness which leads him to spy on his girl in hopes she is not betraying him. A new teacher is brought in who causes problems with Tobias and Shay, and it just seems like the whole Manor is covered in a shadow. The only good thing coming out of this new year is an old friend finally coming home.
