Lucy has always treated her life like a game of chess, planning her moves accordingly. So far there wasn’t an obstacle or piece that she couldn’t move around and claim checkmate in the end. No one has been able to match her. That is of course until an incident occurs and she is sent to go live with her cousin Serenity (OC)  in Magnolia. She is then enrolled in Fairy Tail, a high school for the academically gifted students, where she meets Natsu.


Natsu was always an easy-going type of guy who was far smarter than anyone gave him credit for.  He was the kind to live in the moment, but when the situation was dire he was a mastermind strategist. Natsu never had a reason to use his talent in school until the day he met the new girl, Lucy. She challenged him in ways no one has before. Don’t misunderstand it’s not that they don’t like each other, they just want to see who’s the better tactician. 


Join Natsu and Lucy as they go head to head in an intellectual battle to see who is the first to collect all the other’s pieces or claim Checkmate. School AU. Characters may seem a bit OOC. I do not own any of the Fairy Tail characters (unfortunately). They all belong to Hiro Mashima.
