The fur trade was the driving force of expansion in North America in the 1700s. French and British scoured and carved the lands; looking for this valuable resource. But not all of the people that claimed Rupert's Lands were adventurous fur traders. Some helped run general stores, inns, and taverns in the small landings. One of these individuals was Theodosia Foster. Past the prime age of marriage, Theodosia avoided all suitors like the plague. Scared of being tied down and dictated by a man, she ran 'Elswer' a small inn for local buyers to lodge during business negotiations. But Theodosia couldn't help but feel like something was missing. The Blackfoot tribe lingered along the treeline watching the HBC slowly encroach upon their tribe. Aranck tightened his grip on his bow as he watched the pale faces abuse their land and abuse their women. Stalking away he would wonder who the true savages are? Radha A 19-year-old girl with an innocent curiosity to explore the world, she faced a heartbreak when society forced her into marriage at of sixteen, wedded to a forty-eight-year-old stranger. Each day became unbearable as she silently endured pain, wondering if this is how her life would be. Yet, even in the pain, a hope burned within her, only because of her Kanha. She prayed to her Kanha, believing that someday, despite the harsh realities, she might find her own path to happiness and freedom.
