The thing about heartbreak is that it is always with you. You may not think that, but it is true. Sure, right now you are fine with life, supportive family and awesome friends, but there will come a time when you meet a boy that you define as "perfection".
For Joanna, that is multiple boys. Living with two older siblings in successful relationships can make a girl feel unattractive. It makes her question whether or not she can even get a guy.
High school is where all the action happens. Drama, action, and most importantly, romance. Finally a freshman, Joanna begins writing the story of her life.

Avery wrapped an arm around my waist to catch me before I could get out the door. He pushed me up against the door, trapping me between his body and the door. "What's wrong?" I asked innocently. His face hovered over mine, much closer than I was used to. His gaze didn't leave mine as he spoke. "It would have been different if I had told him from the start. You wanted me to lie for you. Senior high school was probably one of the best moments in life, at least for certain folks. We learn the meaning of life from those periods. It only happens 3 years for the majority of people. But the moments still linger on our mind. Example? Here it goes...
