Quickclaws glided to a weak landing, his sore body crashing into the stone. A dark-scaled dragon landed next to him and after Quickclaws wiped the blood out of his eyes he looked up to see Speedscar. His mentor helped him up, Quickclaws making an effort to stand. Speedscar checked him for any major injuries and seemed relieved that he was okay.

     The dark-scaled dragon lifted his snout to look around the bay. The ice sheet that had been freezing the estuary was broken in places where bodies had fallen through. The ice was stained with spatters of blood. A few bodies littered the cliffs, red and gray alike. Quickclaws' heart skipped a beat when he noticed Lightningtail flying towards him over the battlefield.

     "We won't survive another attack," Speedscar murmured. Quickclaws looked up in surprise to meet his mentor's worried gaze but Speedscar watched the departing SkyWings with a frown.

"You were apparently picked up at the last minute. The original Skywing egg was destroyed, but luckily we were delivered your egg, unfortunately we ended up raising a lazy Rainwing as well." "But Mudwings and Skywings are our enemies! And the Skywing could be a spy for all we know!! He looks just like a Seawing!" "Is he ok? The strange blue dragon has been muttering in his sleep. Not sure if it was the sleeping darts, but he was muttering some words or something..." "We'll have to kill the blue Skywing, too. He seems pretty useless other than not looking like a real Skywing and refusing to act like one." The twist is that the Skywing is James, or Phoenix in this story. Basically James gets pulled into a portal that takes him to the WoF universe, and in order to go back to his home he has to do one thing: help the rest of the dragonets stop the war. I'll be keeping Glory in bc I don't wanna leave out our sassy Rainwing queen, and also bc plot. Of course, there will be plenty of things that will change, which you will see as the story progresses! Keep in mind that characters may act OOC (Out Of Character) to fit my writing style, so I don't want to see any of you yell at me about it. If you have a problem with this then either be nice about it or leave the book. Small heads up: This will contain spoilers for the first 5 Wings of Fire books from The Dragonet Prophecy to The Brightest Night. If you have not read those books yet I suggest you read them, but otherwise you are free to read this. He can read minds and see the future. But inside, he's still twitchy and nervous and scared. He's scared to tell Sunny about his crush on her. He's scared to tell the dragonets about everything he can do. But most of all, he's scared about his powers. They make him feel like an outsider, the dragon that nobody loves, not like somebody special. Then, Morrowseer comes in. He thinks Starflight is a tool for his plan and makes him fly back to the Nightwing Volcano. There, he learns that the Nightwings plan to invade the rainforest and win the war for Blister. Can he and his friends warn the Rainwings of the invasion, or are they too late?
