It came during the most desperate of times, after a reign of bloodshed. It thundered on in spite of terror, hopelessness and the great chain of inequity. It shattered shackles and in its momentum gathered all in its wake. It was hope. In the new era, it rewrote the narrative and finally set the world free. Yet in the new era, order will be disrupted and an old enemy of the Guardians, the exile, will destroy their sanctum and wreak hell upon their lands. Their only hope lies in the form of a child from an advanced race of beings, and she will need to be trained.

She didn't want to look at it, and she still wasn't sure she wouldn't rather take her chances with the open air instead. "Stop it, I'm not going to hurt you! You'll hit your head on the rock or something. Wren, please!" It knew her name. Somehow it knew her. She was going to die! "Let me go! Stop touching me!" She was sitting on the rocky floor now with her back against an uneven wall, and it was trying to pin her down and hold her still. She kept her eyes turned away and struggled helplessly, but it was no use. It was strong like a human man too, and she couldn't keep it off of her. The wings had moved until they curved around them both and shut out a lot of the light. Its face was so near hers that she could feel its breath brushing against her skin. "Please just look at me for a second. Just look. I'm not going to hurt you." One of the hands grabbed her chin and forced her head to turn, and then she was looking straight into a pair of dark brown eyes. It had a human face too. She had been expecting something monstrous or ghastly, and the surprise made her falter for a moment. He looked young, with a bad haircut and an earnest expression on his face. "I'll let go of you, okay? Just don't lunge around like that anymore, you'll get hurt." He whispered.

Only 18 and her dad gave her up for slavering. She knew it would happen but not today. There she was standing there actually wishing to go back home. But there he was... There was one girl to go before me. A new girl, she had almost waist length, very dark brown hair and big, vulnerable green eyes. Very pretty. She picked up her book. She opened her mouth but no sound came out, everyone waited for a couple of seconds but still, nothing. She ran her fingers through the end of her hair and closed her mouth. Nobody said anything. Franny-Ruth. The most amazing girl I've ever known, she was afraid... Of everything. Not to mention both of our family issues. The story isn't smooth, she also helped me escape Bryce and his dangerous gang. I wasn't picked on by them. I was part of them.
